Intercultural Trip with New Hampshire and Vermont Legislators – May 25 – June 3, 2013
Turkish Cultural Center New Hampshire and Vermont organized an intercultural trip to Azerbaijan and Turkiye in collaboration with the
Council of Turkic American Associations. In an effort to enhance the long-lasting friendship between America, Turkiye and Azerbaijan, the trip included high-level meetings with government officials as well as visits to local institutions.
The trip participated by 12 NH and VT Senators and Representatives started in Baku, the buy tamoxifen uk capital city of Azerbaijan. One of the most important events was the US-AZ Convention in celebration of 21th year of the US and Azerbaijan relations. The event participated by around 300 federal and state legislators from the United States was joined by the president of the Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, along with Azeri legislators.
The visitors were also invited to the Azerbaijan Independence Day Reception hosted by “SOCAR”, government-owned petroleum company. “We are honored to host such distinguished guests in our country; organizations like this contribute to the enhancement of our already great relations and provide our American guests with first-hand information about Azerbaijan.” said representatives of petroleum company.
After visiting Qafqaz University, Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy, levothyroxine and weight loss and the state house, the visitors traveled, the next day, to Turkiye.
Pendik and Umraniye municipalities were visited with regards to the sister city projects launched by Turkish Cultural Center. Suleyman Sah University which has exchange agreements with the universities in NH and VT was also visited. University representatives informed the visitors about the educational system in Turkiye and joined the guests for lunch in the university.

An informative discussion at the Journalists and Writers Foundation on the current national and international developments pertaining Turkiye was followed by the Turkish tea.
The dinner was hosted by a volunteer family, during the evening; the guests had unforgettable moments with the sincerity, hospitality and impressive generosity of the family members. Courtesy invitations to their homes in the States were extended to the family members by each and every guest in the group.
Next day, the trippers visited some of the historical and touristic landmarks in Istanbul such as Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern before heading to the Gala organized by the Turkiye’s largest business network TUSKON.
Next stop in the program was Ankara, the capital city of Turkiye. After having a tour of the Turkish Parliament Building, the guests were joined by Kutahya representative Prof. Idris Bal for the dinner.
The last stop the in trip was Izmir where some of the significant landmarks in the region such as the antique city of Ephesus and the House of Saint Mary, were visited.
